German Financial Cooperation (FC) has been supporting the sector of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Rwanda for a number of years. 2017 – Jordan – 200 MW Solar Plant in Jordan
Masdar, a UAE-headquartered international player in renewable energy and sustainable urban development, is the IPP contractor for the 200 MW solar plant in Jordan. The company is responsible for the development, engineering, construction and operation of the plant. deea’s expert opinion was involved to elaborate the operation and maintenance (O&M) contract. This also contained a detailed costs assessment and advice on how to optimize the module cleaning concept.
2017 – Indonesia – Technical oversight and project execution for renewable energy infrastructure
MCA - Indonesia, has evaluated and selected suitable projects and grantees under the Green Prosperity (GP) Finance Facility over the last two years, and since June 2016, has put in place the business processes that focus on the implementation of the Green Prosperity (GP) Project during its final period of operation. The range of projects covers various areas of development, such as Natural Resources Management, Renewable Energy (RE) projects, Green Knowledge Activity, Participatory Land Use Planning (PLUP) and others. Among these range of projects, grouped within portfolios, the Renewable Energy (RE) projects and Peatland Restoration projects (PR), will be the focus of this Technical Oversight of Project Execution (TOPE) activity. On behalf of Tractebel Indonesia deea experts supervise the implementation of battery backed solar PV minigrids and biogas production facilities.
2017 – Ecuador – Planning Construction and Capacity Building for an solar PV based E-mobility project in Cuenca
The electrification of the transportation sector is crucial to tackling global climate change. Under the current Renewable Energy Solutions (RES) program governed by the German Energy Agency (dena), deea solutions is awarded to implement a solar PV based E-mobility showcase project. This involves the planning, engineering, procurement, construction and operation of the project and launching a comprehensive promotion and marketing program to spur investments in RE technologies “Made in Germany” in Ecuador.
2017 – Guinea Bissau – Policy advisory and technical assistance for a 10 MWp solar power plant on IPP basis
A financial advisor to the government of Guinea Bissau has mandated deea solutions to advise on the technical and regulatory framework conditions for the development and implementation of the 1st grid connected solar PV installation in Guinea Bissau.
2016 – Jordan – Owners engineering services for a 100 MW wind farm in Tafilah
On behalf of Gopa International Energy Consultants, deea solutions was contracted to prove the technical aspects, concept and language of the engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and operation and maintenance (O&M) contract for the envisaged project. Moreover deea provided technical expert options during EPC contact negotiations with various contractors.
2016 – Uganda – Development of a financial model for mini-grid tariff calculations as basis for rural electrification concessions in a reverse auction tender
The German development cooperation (GIZ) is supporting the Ugandan REA Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and Electricity Regulation Authority (ERA) in developing a concession model for rural electrification. For this purpose a private operator will be identified in a tendering process to electrify villages by means of hybrid solar-diesel systems. Frankfurt International Advisors, a Frankfurt based consultancy firm, is supporting GIZ on the implementation of this project. In this context a comprehensive financial model was developed by deea solutions to calculate the tariffs as basis for a reverse auction tender process.
2016 – Benin – Due Diligence and yield assessment review for an integrated agriculture farming concept with solar PV-driven irrigation and crop cooling
EnergieKonzepte GmbH has developed a comprehensive concept for sustainable farming with crops in Benin. The concept foresees the cultivation of crops on an irrigated area. The required electricity is generated from a solar PV system with battery backup. 2016 – UAE – 800 MW Solar Plant for Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)
Masdar, the Abu Dhabi-based developer of renewable energy, will lead a consortium to develop phase three of the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar project, owned by the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA). It is planned to be the largest single-site solar park in the world, producing 5,000 MW by 2030 with a total investment of USD 13.61 billion. Under its consultancy agreement Gopa International Energy Consultants has contracted deea solutions to elaborate the operation and maintenance (O&M) costs and contract and to optimize the module cleaning concept. On top deea experts gave their input on EPC contract and scope of services.
2016 – Germany, Egypt – Research Project on Photovoltaic powered Sea Water Desalination
The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is implementing a research project on the development, installation, operation, data collection, monitoring and analysis of a solar PV powered reverse osmosis desalination system to be located in El Gouna, Egypt. As part of a 4 parties consortium, deea is performing the design and layout of the solar PV component of the system. The project is financed by the German Ministry of Education and Research.
2016 – Namibia – Solar Market Development and Promotion Program
deea solutions managed and implemented a Solar PV promotion project in cooperation with the German Energy Agency (dena) in line with “Renewable Energy Solutions Programme 2015/2017”. The program was launched by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy and aims to support German solar companies in entering and exploring new markets. A hands-on training for local engineers and a comprehensive marketing campaign is launched to promote electricity from Solar PV as an reliable and competitive source of energy in Namibia and to promote products and services of participating German project partners.
2016 – Bolivia – Social Impact Assessment for the 50MW Solar PV Power Plant in Oruro according to IFC Performance Standards
The Agence Française de Développement (AFD) aims to finance the 50MWp solar Power plant in Oruro, Bolivia. In that context, AFD has assigned deea to assess the social impacts of the planed solar power plant to the affected communities of La Joya and Ancotanga. The study was carried out by the deea social impact assessment expert and a team of local experts in accordance with the IFC Performance Standards on Environmental and Social Sustainability.
2016 – Uzbekistan – PV Commissioning Expert for the 100 MWp Samarkant Solar Power Project

2016 – Bolivia – Load Flow Study for 50MWp Solar PV Implementation plus Tender Documents
The Agence Française de Développement (AFD) has assigned deea to conduct a dynamic load flow study study in order to assess the impact of the PV plant on the electricity grid, including different generation and load scenarios and to assist the implementing utility Empresa Nacional de Electricidad Bolivia (ENDE) in the preparation of the tender documents according to the requirements of the AFD.
